Best laid plans. I missed a few days, partly being busy, but mostly because they've been routine. Last night I hung out at a local pub with a group of five or six people, loads of fun. It was interesting watching the other gropus of all ages there. There were three couples who seemed like a group and the older woman was having trouble standing at that point in her heels...the husband of the youngest couple was having trouble walking, every time he went back to the bar he swayed a little. Then of course the middle woman was pregnant so it didn't like like she was drinking. They still had the teenage/human circle dynamic. It was an amusing show, most everyone was kicking back on a Friday night though.
Wednesday and Thursday were oriented around classes and getting reading done in various cafes....about 300 pages, but I've got more to go. First essay is due this Friday. I figured out how to renew library books online! Horray. Also tomorrow I go on a nice long field trip that I am very much looking forward to. Monday will mark the one month milestone....and a friend's birthday as well. I think we're going out for dinner at a bar or club or something. That'll be nice to look forward to. I walked down to Oxford Circus yesterday and finally found cheap clothing stores to update my wardrobe with the London style, and we're talking H and M here, but it's still London stuff. There are also some reasonably priced boots, so here's hoping they're comfortable too, I'm going back without a heavy backpack sometime this week to do a little shopping, a few more shirts, and a skirt or two, because boots/tights/skirt and nice top or something seem to be the style right now. Sneakers, not so much.
Hasn't rained much, but it has been a bit of that cloudy overcast weather, ahhhh. Light rain no longer bothers me, it's too much effort to put up the umbrella. I've started to find the nice little places away from my room/computer to do reading, and that's been fun. Laundry was a success today! Now I have to join the gym because somehow between my organizing, sleeping in, having an extended lunch and going to the library, that didn't happen today like it was meant to. I will also be joining a library, that's bigger and closer, so I have more book options for checking out what I need, and finally I need to get a printer. That's in addition to three classes monday, fun evening out then...and we'll see how the rest of the week pans out working towards the first paper of the year which officially starts off a steady stream of work right through my departure home. Looks like Germany in about a month is a go though, time to start booking some tickets.
Well pictures from the field trip will go up tomorrow or Monday.
Cheers,
T
